Okay, So I Wasn't On the Mend

This time I was MIA in the Trenches of Illness. Ugh! I've felt so terrible. I thought I was getting better and then the sinus pressure and plugging settled in and didn't want to leave. You know that Mucinex commercial where the mucous moved in? Well, that was me Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Finally on Friday, I had to go to the doctor. The nurse practitioner put me on some antibiotics and over-the-counter decongestants. She diagnosed me with a sinus infection and upper respiratory infection. When I got home from the doctor, I took a shower, ate a little something, took my drugs and rested. I hadn't slept well in three days, so I went to bed at 11:00 PM Friday night and got up at 12:00 PM Saturday! I slept for 13 hours! Yesterday, I think I turned the corner and am on my way to recovery. All that sleep must have helped. My chest is still rattly and wheezy. I have a stethoscope I keep on hand to use on the critters if I need to. I got it out and listened to my chest. It was very instrumental.

Needless to say, I didn't go to church today. I've spent the afternoon catching up on paperwork. I hate to balance the checkbooks with the statements (I use online banking, mostly). With nothing better to do, I got out the statements and got to it. I filed and tied up the loose ends for 2009. Now, all the 2009 paperwork can go to the basement for storage. Ahh! What a relief to know it's done.

The weather here has been wonderful. The robins are back and I even heard a Red-Winged Blackbird. The daffodils are up and I've even seen my daylillies and hyacinths peeking out. Spring is springing!

My brother and my sister-in-law will be welcoming baby number four on Tuesday. My birthday is tomorrow, so that will be a nice present. It's supposed to be another boy. Four boys!!! They are 8, 7 and 1.

Hey Renee, sorry to hear you were so sick but glad to her you are on the mend. Hope you get to have a Happy Birthday tomorrow. Have a great evening, Jamie

Gone But Not Forgotten...

Even though you may be gone from this earth, you will always live on in our hearts!

Roscoe

Roscoe
A good walking buddy and awesome frisbee catcher! Life cut short by a brain tumor.

Tuffy

Tuffy
If ever there was a candidate for Dog Heaven, it would be Tuff. Tuff was put to rest December 7, 2012. At almost 14 years old, he threw the longevity curve for dogs of his breed-makeup and size. He battled 2 types of cancer and Cushing's Disease as well as arthritis. Faithful to the end and never grumpy, depite the constant care and nagging from me. Always the protector, gentleman and companion--you will be sorely missed by all who had the opportunity to know you.

Ever wonder why it's called "Life On CT Farm"? The horse you see in the pictures is Cranky Thomas, a registered quarter horse gelding. He was born May 5, 1980 in Galion, Alabama and passed away August 3, 2004 on CT Farm--his farm. He originally belonged to my husband, but I adopted him and I think he adopted me. We competed together in contest classes at local horse shows. But, an old injury finally slowed him down and I retired him in 2000. He was a loving and patient being that I completely trusted and admired. There will never be another like him, never. He meant so much to me that I named our farm after him as well as my company, Cranky T. LLC. He's gone now, but is still with me and now you.
